Meeting Skills Course

Great meetings don't just happen, they occur because someone makes them happen.

The course looks at the principles of running effective meetings, the communication skills required to participate successfully and the writing skills necessary to produce high quality meeting documentation. 

Course duration:

Half day - classroom session

Learning Objectives:

- Give participants the tools required to run effective meetings in their workplace.

- Understand why some meetings fail and evaluate their current practices

- Enhance participants' existing skills when running or participating in a meeting

  • Planning a meeting
  • The pitfalls and how to avoid them
  • The 12 point plan for better meetings
  • The role and responsibilities of the facilitator / chair
  • Getting the message across effectively
  • Listening and body language
  • Keeping meeting to the allocated time
  • Tips and hints for writing better meeting documentation
  • Agreeing action items
  • Evaluating a meeting - did it achieve it objectives
