ADR – Driver Training Certificate. ADR is the acronym given to the European Agreement Concerning the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road.A Hazardous Chemical / ADR Driver Training Certificate is required for any driver who operates a vehicle used for transporting dangerous goods by road throughout Ireland and the EU.

The training of drivers involved in the carriage of dangerous goods is a legislative requirement, both nationally and as members of the EU. Non compliance with this legislation can result in substantial fines for all concerned in the transport of hazardous chemicals / goods.
Purpose Of The Training:
To give drivers a thorough understanding of the hazards presented by dangerous goods and to acquaint them with the rules and regulations involved. It is the responsibility of employers to ensure that their drivers are properly trained and certified.

Examination & Certification:
Following completion of the course a driver can sit the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport exam. The certificate is valid for 5 years.
Examination fee: €125 (One exam on the day – Basic, Tanker or Refresher)
€200 (2 exams on the day – Basic & Tanker)
Examinations are held throughout the year at a number of locations
