First Aid Responder

Abrasive Wheel Mounting

The course is suitable for those with a responsibility for the installation, operation and maintenance of abrasive wheels in accordance with the relevant regulations. The course is highly participative with emphasis on the practical element of the training. Note: This course is specific to tools associated with abrasive wheels and not the safe use of power tools in general.

Manual Handling

Current health and safety legislation requires that all employees engaged in manual handling activities must be given training in safe lifting techniques. The term manual handling is used to describe a range of activities including lifting, lowering, pushing, pulling, carrying and moving an object. The course provides participants with the knowledge and skill to conduct manual handling activities in a manner that will prevent injury. All Trainers are QQI certified as required by the Health & Safety Authority (HSA).

QQI Level-5 Safety & Health at Work

The purpose of this course is to equip learners with the knowledge and skills necessary to promote and maintain a healthy and safe working environment for employees in compliance with the safety Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005.

QQI Level-6 Manual Handling Instruction (6S0242)

Health and Safety Authority (HSA) regulations require that all manual handling instructors are certified. The purpose of this course is to equip learners with the knowledge, skills and competencies to deliver manual handling training. Learners will examine the theoretical and practical aspects of manual handling, risk assessment and the key training tools and skills required to effectively deliver manual handling courses.

Safe Pass

Safe Pass is a safety awareness training programme for construction workers. This one-day programme provides workers with a basic knowledge of health and safety to make them aware of the inherent dangers on work sites so that they will not be a risk to themselves or to their co-workers who work alongside them.

VDU Assessor

The Safety, Health & Welfare at Work Act 2005 and the General Applications 2007 requires that all hazards in a workplace be identified, risk assessed and that adequate precautions be introduced. Ergonomics is a method of fitting a work area to the worker. The purpose is to reduce the amount of strain put on the body and eliminate visual and musculoskeletal stress and damage. Employers are required to analyze VDU workstations and the general work environment paying particular attention to eyesight, physical difficulties and mental stress and to introduce measures to control any risks identified.

Learners will examine the principle theories and styles of leadership and the role and key functions of a team leader, including motivation, communication, planning, goal setting and delegation.
