ACCA Diploma in Accounting & Business

The Diploma in Accounting and Business Qualification is part of both the ACCA Foundation in Accountancy (FIA) Suite of Awards and the ACCA Professional Qualification. No previous academic or accountancy qualifications are required however some basic understanding of accounting principles and/or some experience in an accounting environment is desirable. The course is equivalent to the first year of a degree.

APICS - Certified in Production &Inventory Management (CPIM) Part 1

The course is essential for anyone working in production and inventory management, operations, supply chain management, procurement, material management and purchasing. It is also of benefits to participants outside these departments including process engineers, financial analysts, customer service personnel or anyone involved in the supply chain as it provides an overall understanding of how organisations function.

12 weeks, 1 evening per week

APICS - CPIM - Part 2: The course is essential for anyone working in production and inventory management, operations, supply chain management, procurement, material management and purchasing. It is also of benefits to participants outside these departments including process engineers, financial analysts, customer service personnel or anyone involved in the supply chain as it provides an overall understanding of how organisations function.

20 weeks, 1 evening per week

Award in Business Management (QQI Award (Minor) Level 6– Further Education & Training (6N4310))

The programme is open to all learners however they should ideally be working or involved in a business-related activity though not necessarily in a management or supervisory role. The programme is ideal for a learner who has recently been promoted into a management role, or aspires to be promoted, and now needs to complement and enhance their work experience with a relevant qualifications.

Award in Employment Law (QQI Award (Minor) Level 6– Further Education & Training (6N4322))

The course is designed to equip participants with knowledge of the key aspects of employment law and an appreciation of how employment law principles work in practice. In also provides an in-depth understanding of the statutory framework which regulates the employer/employee relationship.

People Handling and Moving

On completion of this course participants will possess the knowledge, skills and techniques to carry out people moving and handling activities in a safe manner both for themselves and the person in accordance with good manual handling techniques.The course also trains participants in how to correctly use relevant people handling equipment.

Driver Training

Fork Truck Certification - Experienced

Designed as an approved Certification Course for Experienced Operators who are not certified or whose certificates have expired. The course covers the key operating elements and safety practices for Reach or Counter Balance Trucks. It concludes with theoretical and practical competence tests.

2 days - 09:30 to 16:00

Fork Truck Certification - Refresher

Designed as an approved Refresher course for previously certified operators, the course revisits the key operating elements and safety practices in line with the Code of Practice. The course concludes with theoretical and practical assessments.

1 day, 9.30 am to 4 pm

Finance

Finance for Non-Financial Managers

The programme is designed to give participants a firm understanding of the principles of financial management and provide them with the confidence to participate in financial discussions and financial decision making.

H&S

Abrasive Wheel Mounting

The course is suitable for those with a responsibility for the installation, operation and maintenance of abrasive wheels in accordance with the relevant regulations. The course is highly participative with emphasis on the practical element of the training. Note: This course is specific to tools associated with abrasive wheels and not the safe use of power tools in general.

Fire Warden

The course trains participants to act in the capacity of a Fire Warden/Fire Marshal in a place of work. It reviews the actions to be taken by a Fire Warden in the event of a fire or emergency situation.

Fork Truck Certification - Experienced

Manual Handling

Current health and safety legislation requires that all employees engaged in manual handling activities must be given training in safe lifting techniques. The term manual handling is used to describe a range of activities including lifting, lowering, pushing, pulling, carrying and moving an object. The course provides participants with the knowledge and skill to conduct manual handling activities in a manner that will prevent injury. All Trainers are QQI certified as required by the Health & Safety Authority (HSA).

Half day

Manual Handling Instructor

The HSA regulations require that all Manual Handling Instructors must be certified. This course is designed to equip individuals with the knowledge, skills and competencies to deliver manual handling training. Learners who achieve this award can transfer into the Level 6 Special Purpose Certificate in People Handling Instruction.

5 days, 9.30 am to 4.30 pm

Manual Handling Instructor Refresher

The course is relevant for all previously certified Manual Handling Instructors and holders of the Level 6 Special Purpose Award in Manual Handling Instruction (FETAC/QQI 6S0242). This course refreshes and updates participant's knowledge, skills and competencies in delivering manual handling training. It is is highly interactive and culminates with practical delivery sessions with the instructor and peer feedback.

2 days, 9 am to 4 pm

PHECC Cardiac First Responder

This Cardiac First Response – Community Level course was developed by PHECC, the Pre- Hospital Emergency Care Council, as a national standard for anyone who has to deal with a heart attack, stroke or choking. A Cardiac First Responder can play a vital role in keeping a person alive until they receive expert medical assistance. Equally CPR and an AED are important links in the chain of survival.

Half day, 9 am to 1 pm

PHECC First Aid Responder

The course aims to equip learners with the practical skills, knowledge and competencies to provide first aid and life-saving support in an accident situation. The instructional format includes: lectures, practical exercises, practice and drills, and instructional videos.

PHECC First Aid Responder Refresher

The aim of the course is to refresh learners with the practical skills, knowledge and competence to provide first aid and life-saving support in an accident situation.

2 days, 09:00 to 16:30

Safe Pass

Safe Pass is a safety awareness training programme for construction workers. This one-day programme provides workers with a basic knowledge of health and safety to make them aware of the inherent dangers on work sites so that they will not be a risk to themselves or to their co-workers who work alongside them.
